They deal with androids of themselves from the future, ghosts of themselves, games with death, adventure through hell and heaven. And it all connects well, unlike the previous movie. While the first "Bill and Ted" movie bore me, this was has entertainment value. If you liked the first "Bill and Ted" movie you will probably like this one as well. Although it's a bit more crude than the previous one. Although this is nothing compared to the crudeness in the comedies today.

There is/are also the Martian Station.
This sequel is always going to have to face the difficulty of repeating such an unique premise and memorable concepts. The good news is the addition of Death. He is hilarious and the best part of the movie. The guys are slightly older but still the same. The movie seems to be trying for the craziest ideas. Some work but some don't. There is an interesting but rambling detour into hell which could be improved with Death. This sequel works well at times mostly due to Death. It needs more Death and he proves to be a fun part of a new trio. It's a little bumpy but the ride provides some good fun.

Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves return as Bill S. Preston and Ted "Theodore" Logan. The plot for this sequel to the surprisingly good original film borrows from James Cameron's "The Terminator, with an evil overlord from the future, Joss Ackland, sending robot duplicates of Bill & Ted into the past to kill them before their band "Wyld Stallyns" becomes famous, which somehow changes the course of history against the evil tyrant. The main problem with this sequel is that it's not all that funny. You get the feeling that filmmakers decided to embrace the notion that bigger is better in an effort to conceal the fact that there really wasn't much of a story to tell here. However, the film is unpretentious and does manage to be likable despite it's vapidness. George Carlin returns as Rufus, William Sadler plays a very un-Ingmar Bergman version of Death, Pam Grier has a small role, and the excellent band Primus even appears in a concert scene.
